Prompt #34 What I believe about art

Art is the expression of a person’s imagination, emotion or creative skill.  There are so many ways to express art.  It can be expressed by dancing, painting, sketching, splashing, burning, sculpting, building, folding, stacking, cutting, photographing or filming.  There are so many ways to express art and there are so many ways to interpret it.  I think that there is no specific way to do art.  Everyone is different and the way people perceive art is different too.

Some people use art to show their creative skill by sketching, painting or coloring landscapes or people realistically.  This is a really beautiful art, artists can sketch or paint things so realistically, that it looks like a photograph.  This kind of art can really show the beauty of landscapes.  Another creative art skill is dancing.  Dancing is very creative and it takes a lot of practice to do things like ballet.  Dancing is art because in dances like ballet, it can tell a story.  Other creative skill is photography, capturing images that might be seen only once in a lifetime or breathtaking and exotic images of places that people may have never seen before.

Some people use art to show their imagination such as by drawing or painting things from their minds.  It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but himself or herself.  It can even be interpreted in different ways.  This kind of art can be anything.  It can be paint splashed onto a canvas, or paintings like the “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, which is like a distorted picture of a person holding their head with their mouth open as if they were screaming.  It can be abstract, kind of random.  There are no limitations to what should be done in abstract art.

Also, people use art to express their emotions.  It could be sketches with hard ragged lines that represent anger, long fluid lines that represent sadness or something like that.  It can also be a picture that represents an emotion like an abstract painting of a person crying with their body filled with cracks and breaking pieces, like an exploding rock.

Art doesn’t need to be realistic.  It can be anything.  I believe that art is something that expresses a person’s imagination, emotion or creative skill.  I think that anyone can be an artist; you don’t need a special license to become an artist.  Art is something that can be interpreted in many ways.  It can seem like something to one person and then something totally different to another person.  I also think that art is never ugly or bad.  Sometimes some art is seen as ugly or as a really bad piece of work, but to others, it might seem like a work of art.
